Whatever your age, and however independent you are, we think life’s far easier if there’s always someone around to help.

When you live at Woodchester Valley Village, you have a member of staff on duty on hand 24 hours a day to provide a concierge service, and to help with any day-to-day issues or emergencies. The Management Company takes on the burden of property management, freeing up your time to enjoy life.

It’s all taken care of

Our housekeeping team does a weekly clean of your home and launders your bed linen and towels. The maintenance team handles odd jobs and small repairs for you, and our chef will prepare delicious freshly cooked meals, or bake delicious cakes and bread for you, as well as catering for village events. We'll hold any parcels for you if they're delivered when you're out, we'll deliver your newspapers and even let the dog out for a comfort break if you're out for a few hours. If your boiler needs a service but you've been invited to the cinema on the day the engineer is expected, we can let him in and lock up after him.

A friendly, efficient team

You’ll find the people in our team are really approachable and ready to help, providing practical support to make sure life runs smoothly for you.

If your freezer breaks down, for example, they’ll store your food safely until it’s repaired or replaced. If you’re going away and you have a cat, they’ll call in to feed it. If you’re expecting a delivery of food or medication that needs to be refrigerated, they’ll sign for it while you’re out and pop it in your fridge.

A welcoming community

With its informal layout, mix of property types and unique Mutual structure, Woodchester Valley Village has the friendly supportive community feel that is found in the best rural villages. Safe behind their own front doors, residents can be as sociable (or as unsociable!) as they wish; however outgoing they choose to be, they can always be sure that a helpful neighbour is not far away.

Handy facilities

We also have a well-stocked library, a hairdresser, a village shop, our ‘Green Room’ lounge for small gatherings and The Octagon lounge – our village hall, which is used for larger events. Freshly cooked three-course meals are available daily in our delightful dining room, and these can also be delivered to your home. Frozen meals freshly made on the premises are also available. Our smart air-conditioned residents' minibus makes regular shopping trips each week, including one to our local Waitrose supermarket.

Activities in the Village

There's always something enjoyable happening here. When permitted and within Government guidelines, we have regular entertainment events from illustrated talks to musical recitals, themed lunches and wine tastings. There are several activity-centred get-togethers, including the Gardening Group, Book Reading Club and Play Reading Group, and our minibus makes regular outings to various cultural and retail venues, as well as destinations of sightseeing interest. Many of our residents attend events of interest in the local area for which the minibus may be made available, or they travel in their own cars, giving lifts where needed.

Gardens and grounds

Most of our properties have their own garden space which you can maintain yourselves if you wish, but if you need help we have a team of garden contractors who can assist when required. We also have allotments available for those who wish to produce their own fresh produce.

Pets are welcome

Well-behaved and socialised pets are welcome in the Village, and when the time comes to say goodbye to your beloved companion, we welcome their successors.

A life rich in possibilities

You’ll find everything is designed to help you get the most from life at Woodchester Valley Village, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

As a mutually owned Village, without a need to generate profits for a third party landlord, our team works hard to ensure the Village is efficiently run for the benefit of all our leaseholders. Therefore, our service charges compare very favourably with even the best of other, commercially run, retirement villages. For more information on this, click here.

There's never been a better time to contact us and start planning the best move of your life.

Call today to chat about finding the right home for you in our Village, to suit the way you want to live.
